Pictures from the Laramie Race
Great job this weekend!
Pictures from the Laramie race are posted here.
The pictures are passworded, for internet safety purposes. The account name you need to view the pictures is 'lhsnordic' (without the quotes, enter it in the 'email' box, no @ sign). The password is the name of the exit that we take to get to our skiing area. Once you are in, click on 'My Photos', then the picture of Ethan charging up Campground hill. If you want to download and post some pictures to your Face Book page, that is okay. Please ask permission of any others in the photo before doing so.
A note about the photos. There are many good photos here. To save space they have been reduced to lower resolution. If you or your parents want a full resolution copy of one or more photos, send an email to tlm82070@gmail.com, let me know which one(s), and I will send you a copy via email or jump drive.
While there are many good photos here, there are also some bad ones. I continue to have trouble with my new camera focusing on the background, and not the subject. I guess that is why they call it amateur photography. So, in many of the photos, the background trees are in focus, but the skier is not. Sorry about that, and I hope to get that fixed with more practice. It would help if the skiers were not so fast.
Look for evidence of good and bad technique in all these photos. Is the skier putting all their weight onto the gliding ski? Is their weight forward? Is there the appropriate amount of bend at the ankles and waist? Are their arms bent and poles placed appropriately? Do they appear to be looking 10-15 meters ahead? All these things should be in place for efficient skiing.
