Practice at 1:00 pm

Hi Everyone! It's too cold this morning to ski but it is suppose to warm up to 11 above by 1:00 pm. So we are going to meet at the High School at 1:00 pm

Too Cold for Practice!

It is suppose to be -20 tomorrow at 9:00 am so we are not going to ski.  Stay in your house and do some yoga and rolling and stay warm!  See you Wednesday at 9:00 am!

Hats for sale!

The team has new hats! See the pictures below.  They are quality Nordic race beanies, but unlike other race beanies, they are pretty darned warm because they are lightly lined.  One size fits all. To allow parents, aunts, uncles, friends, grandpas, grandmas, dogs, goldfish, etc to show their support we are offering left-over hats for sale.   Proceeds offset cost of the hats to the kids.  You can find the hats at Cross Country Connection in downtown Laramie for $25.

Plan for Saturday

Practice for Saturday has been moved up!  We will leave the LHS parking lot at 8:30 am. So that we can be back for the Gear Swap that starts at 11 am in the Union Ballroom!!!  You want to get there before or right at 11 am so you can get in to get the good gear!!

Technique Visualization and Race Strategy

Greetings fellow skiers!  As we are approaching our first race weekend, I would like to remind you all how important it is to visualize technique and racing.  I've attached a couple of links for world cup classic skiing.  These might help give some of you new skiers a sense of what racing looks like, and they are helpful to all skiers for technique and race strategy.  I'd encourage all of you to watch at least 10 minutes of these videos!  Visual learning is one of the best ways to become a better skier. Week 2 - Thanksgiving Camp

Thursday:  Happy Thanksgiving!  No Practice / Ski on your own 2:00 Hours. Friday:  Thanksgiving Camp Meet @ 1:00 pm LHS Teachers Lot / Happy Jack / Skate Over Distance & Technique Work 2:30 Hours. Second day on snow

Senior Dinner

End of the Season Awards

Hi Everyone! Yay!  Spring Break is here!  Hope everyone has a good one. We will be having our end of the season desert potluck on March 26th at 7:00 pm. Freshman and Sophomores bring drinks and Junior and Seniors Bring Deserts. Please bring your suits to return and any other borrowed equipment! Hope to see you all there!!!

State Week!!!

Hi All! So I hope that none of you are lactose intolerant because state is going to be legen dary!!!! Here it is! Monday:  Skate Skiing / 15 min. Warm up / Review Technique / 15 min. Cool Down Tuesday:  Yoga at 3:30 in the Library Wednesday:  Classic Skiing / 15 min. warm up / leg speeds / 10 min. cool down Thursday:  Leave for Cody 7:00 am / Load Time 6:30 / Wax Friday:   Start Time:  11:00 am Interval Starts 1 skier every 30 sec. Varsity Women: 5 km Freestyle (10 min intermission before…) Varsity Men: 5 km Freestyle Saturday:   Start Time: 9:30 am Interval Starts 1 skier every 30 sec. Varsity Men: 10 km Classic (10 min break before…) Varsity Women: 10 km Classic We will be having a banquet so dress up for the occasion!  Also we plan to stop at the hot springs so bring your swim suit!

4 Weeks Left

It will be great to have a week off from racing!  We have been going pretty hard for the last two weeks!  This will be our last week for morning practices so if you are low on points for state this is a good time to get them in!  Remember you can find the list of points on this blog under links. Intensity Block Here We Come!
